IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Research to Practice Symposium previously scheduled for December 1-2, 2005 has been cancelled. Key aspects of this event, including showcasing of "Head Start Programs Striving for Quality", will be included in the planning of several upcoming events, including Head Start's Eighth National Research Conference, June 26-28, 2006, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Washington, DC.

The Director’s Institute, November 28-30; and the Celebration of Head Start’s 40th Anniversary, beginning at 6:00 pm on November 30, at the Marriott Crystal Gateway will both proceed as scheduled.

The ninth annual Head Start Directors Institute will be held November 28-30, 2005 at the Marriott Crystal Gateway. The Institute will provide Early Head Start and Head Start Directors with an overview of national priorities, a review of essential knowledge and competencies, and opportunities to network.

On Wednesday evening, November 30, program directors will be joined by staff, parents, board members, higher education partners, researchers, technical assistance staff, regional and national Head Start staff, State Collaboration Directors, national association representatives, other partners, and special guests for the 40th Anniversary celebratory reception, Honoring the Past, Strengthening the Future.
