This October, the Office of Head Start will host the National Dual Language Institute: A Time for Action in Washington, D.C., at the Hilton Washington, October 28-31, 2008.

The Institute will bring together Head Start program directors and managers, teacher leaders, and parent leaders. Together, they will gain knowledge, skills, and resources to address challenges and maximize opportunities for young dual language learners – sometimes referred to as English language learners (ELLs) – who are learning both English and their home language or whose native languages are being revitalized.

We welcome and encourage Head Start, Early Head Start, Migrant and Seasonal Head Start, and American Indian Alaska Native Head Start programs to join us for this unique event. Pre-Institute resources are available for review prior to your arrival.
