Welcome to the 2007 Early Childhood Partners’ Meeting Website!

Thank you to everyone who contributed time, thoughts, and experiences making the meeting a great success.  We hope this conference was just the beginning and your efforts we will continue to make a difference in your States!

The Early Childhood Partners' Meeting in Washington, DC combined two separate meetings focusing on early childhood development: 

 

National Forum on Head Start/Pre-K ~ January 17-18 (half day on 18th)

The first part of the meeting, January 17-18, 2007 was devoted to a National Forum on Head Start/Pre-K. The participants invited to attend this meeting included representatives of PreK Now, the National Head Start Association, State Head Start Associations and other state and national early childhood partners. Follow the "National Forum on Head Start/Pre-K" tab at top of the screen for more information on this part of the meeting.

 

Head Start-Child Care-MCHB Meeting ~ January 18-19 (two full days)

Theme: "Strengthening State Systems to Promote Early Childhood Development: Moving to the Next Level"

The National Forum was followed by the Head Start-Child Care-MCHB Meeting on January 18-19, 2007, hosted by the Office of Head Start, Child Care Bureau, and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. Participants included grantees and technical assistance providers of the three sponsoring agencies plus State Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Coordinators, State Child Care Administrators, and other state early childhood stakeholders.

This part of the meeting focused on finance, administrative and governance issues in addition to building state systems. States were grouped in clusters by major subject areas, and then state teams discussed strategic steps to move forward. Follow the "Head Start-Child Care-MCHB" tab at the top of the screen for more information on this part of the meeting.
