The Second Annual Head Start and Early Head Start American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Program Branch National Conference offered a variety of interactive educational sessions. Within these sessions, conference participants had the opportunity to exchange cutting-edge information on a range of policy, research, program, and practice issues. Workshops addressed such issues as: § Promoting Early Learning and Literacy § Mentor-Coaching § Screening & Assessment § Classroom Environments § Fatherhood § Professional Development & Teacher Degree Qualification § Parent Involvement § Enrollment § Health & Nutrition § Serving Children with Disabilities § Social and Emotional Development § Curriculum § Infant Stimulation § Reflective Supervision The Conference also showcased model practices in tribal programs around the country. The Conference ended with a Pow-Wow Cultural Exchange.
